St. Croix Chocolate Company sees surge in visitors

After the announcement of her award-winning bars in the international competition earlier this year, she (Chocolatier Robyn Dochterman) noticed an increase in traffic. Since the announcement of the final award placements just after Thanksgiving, the shop often sees a line of 20 or more people, and can sell out. 

On Friday, Dec. 1, for instance, about 30 people were gathered in and out of the shop awaiting the purchase of chocolates. Christine and Patrick Stevens, a mother and son, had driven from River Falls, Wisconsin, to taste the chocolates. 

“They’re international [award-winning]; it’s got to be good, right?” Patrick said.
