Holiday Pre-Orders & Shipping FAQ

Holiday Pre-Orders & Shipping FAQ

Posted by Deidre Pope on

When it comes to holiday pre-orders, we do things a little differently. We're a small shop with limited capacity and often sell out early during the holiday season. We encourage you to pre-order your chocolates now and select a shipping date (or pick-up date) that will ensure your gift will arrive in time for the holidays.

It's still November. Why should I pre-order my chocolates now?

Pre-ordering your chocolates help us keep our production schedule on track and ensures that your gift will arrive in time. Like a reservation at your favorite restaurant, a pre-order saves your spot in advance and helps the kitchen provide the best experience possible.

What are my shipping dates?

At checkout, you'll see these options. Please choose one:
1) This is a non-holiday item. Please ship/pick-up in November.
2) Please ship/pick-up between December 2-8.
3) Please ship/pick-up between December 9-16.
4) Please ship/pick-up between December 16-21.

What service do you use for shipping? Can I pay for faster shipping?

We ship from Minnesota via USPS Priority Mail. As we are in a more rural location, shipping time is normally 2-4 days, depending on the distance your package must travel. We do not offer faster shipping.

What if I want to order chocolates for Thanksgiving and pre-order for Christmas?

Please place two separate orders for each holiday. We know this isn't ideal, but it's the best way for us to stay on top of holiday demand for our fine, fresh, beautiful chocolates.

I want to pre-order chocolates for my sister in Wisconsin and my brother in California. What is the best way to do this?

Please place one order for each shipping address on your shopping list. We know it's a pain, but our online store can only process orders for one address at a time. As we ship from Minnesota, please plan for longer delivery times to locations on the east and west coasts. Your sister in Wisconsin will get her chocolates a few days before your brother in California.

What happens if my order is damaged in transit? Goes missing? Arrives after the holidays?

We cannot be responsible for USPS delivery delays related to increased holiday high volume and winter weather. We also cannot be responsible for stolen or damaged product that is not retrieved from the outdoors in a timely fashion. We strongly encourage shipping to an address where the recipient will be during the day. To ensure that your chocolate gift does not sit out in the winter weather, please let your recipient know that “something is coming” and they should watch for it.

I live local. Can I pick up my order early in person at the shop?

No. Every pre-order holds a spot in line for someone, and it's not Minnesota nice to cut in front of others. Here's and example of how local pick up works: If you choose "Please ship/pick-up between December 9-16," we'll send you an email between December 9-16 to let you know your pre-order is ready for pick-up. You can pick-up your chocolates during regular/holiday business hours. Updated hours will be included in your notification email and posted on our website.

Oh, no! You're sold out of chocolate online. Is there still chocolate at the shop?

Yes! We keep our candy case stocked at the shop along with other holiday goodies. We can't guarantee that your favorite bon bon will be available when you stop by, but there will be plenty of seasonal sweets for you to purchase and enjoy with family and friends.
